| 1726 | Darrell Larose | This indicates VeriSign feels it owns the Internet. They were for all purposes given the .tld, now they have the wildcard lookup, which says they own the web. Well maybe they should buy the web, and all the 'free infra-structure" before they try to control it. Today Verisign is hi-jacking unassigned domain names, but can blocking domains be far off. | 1798 | Christopher T. Hanlon | After spending more then 3 weeks upgrading, and instituting anti-spam measures including checks on DNS and reverse DNS lookup, I'm simply appalled at this change. After the DNS refreshed last night my incoming mail spiked up by about 30K messages between 4 am and 8 am. All spam from non-extant .com and .net domains. All of it would have been rejected by reverse dns lookups. | Ontario Canada | Merge Internet |
| 1799 | Duncan Gibb | Clearly this is an outragous abuse of monopoly. Verisign must cease and desist, otherwise the DNS system will fragment in the face of mass opt-out from the root server infrastructure as it currently exists. | UK | |
